Once when camping on the beach in Florida, we had an invasion of ants in our RV. We looked and found they were entering by crawling up the electric cord and water hose. We used lubricating grease to coat a short section of the water hose and electric cord . The ants did not like that, and quit coming in. When we were ready to leave that campground, the hose and cord were wiped clean with paper towels.

WOMEN'S CHAT -- 9:30 PM Eastern

OMG, I just purchased a Travel Trailer yesterday it is used but really nice, been looking for one for almost a year. Got it home and today it was covered with sugar ants. What do I do? I sprayed raid, killed them about a hour later more were back, I had carpet and couches, beds, cleaned about 2 hours more were back. Had Orkin come spray it walked out there tonight they are back. I am so upset. What can I do? Any suggestions.

I have picked up sugar ants several times over the years. They must like to travel. lol I keep some of the little plastic baits for ants in my motorhome all the time. Sometimes I will see a few but have never had that many. If they have a nest in your trailer I would think the bait poison would be the best to get rid of them.

Haven't had that problem in the past so will need to store those

ideas away or just re-ask! lol

Have a bottle of Terro in the rig and in the house....I swear by it. But like I said..don't be shocked at first because it looks like more are moving in. Ants love the stuff and they will flock around it to feed..just keep putting it out until no more show up to eat. Although it's hard to do...don't try to kill them at the feeding area because you want them to take it back to the colony. Several years ago at a campground there was an ant hill on our area. I drizzled a good amount of Terro on it...next day there was absolutely no ant activity.
