Dropped Ann off to get her mani/pedi while I went to find the Cadillac Ranch. In the '50s an eccentric millionaire named Stanley Marsh buried some Cadillacs nose down in a field. He has moved them closer to town but there they are. No sign anywhere to warn you that you are close. You just need to keep your eyes open until you see cars pulled off the road.

A nice couple from Finland offered to take my photo. They are on a motorcycle ride on Route 66 and, yes, there is someone inside the car.

After picking Ann up we ventured back to the Big Texan (we had another coupon) and had our chicken fried steak dinner.

Feel like Alice in Wonderland. And that's the truth - pssspt!

This was the list of the latest people (all men) who have eaten the 72 oz steak in an hour. One man ate it in 26 minutes. There is a raised platform for those making the attempt so the rest of the diners can watch.

This morning we rode Jeeps into a part of the canyon for a cowboy breakfast. This is only one part of Palo Duro canyon.

Sharon getting her breakfast. The tray became the plate.

Ann and Sharon.

Again tried to get my satellite dish to work. This is my work crew. With their help it worked.

Great pictures. Those cars are a hoot. Love the chair, but don't think it would fit in my MH. You all look like you are having a great time. Keep the pictures coming.

Nice photos, Vicki!! It's been many a year since we have seen the Cadillac Ranch, but I asked Milt, as I didn't remember the graffiti painted on them...and he agreed with me-- the cars were just the colors they came in. It's a strange collection... and no real beauty to them... but there ya are!!

Wish I were having one of those chicken fried steaks for supper tonight.. My favorite way to eat it---- but don't.

I don't see the ladder you used to climb up in that rocker!!!

Looks like a good Cowboy Breakfast!!! Good going for your Satellite crew getting it going!!

Thanks for all the sharing... I'm really enjoying your trip.... and appreciate keeping us up to snuff!

Happy Travels!

Joella

I'm with Joella, I sure wish I had one of those chicken fried steaks. My diet would be out the window.

You are making me wish I was with you all. Looks like the usual good time. You almost caught Sharon with food in her mouth, keep trying. lol

Thanks for the pics of the Cadillac Ranch, Vicki. I have only seen then from the Interstate. Here is some info on how it came to be...very interesting!

The chair reminds me of Lily Tomlin's Edith Ann character!

Sharon, love your blog. Sounds like you are really doing it all. I got to spend one night in Palo Duro last year at the state park and really wished i had more time to explore. Let usall know how the show is. Definitey a place to re-visit.

How are you going to miss going to Iowa? the western part of the state isn't that great but still ought to take a run over so you can put it on the map
