We left Houston headed for the PD rally and spent our first night in Mineral Wells at the Eagle's Nest RV park. The people were so nice and led us up the hill to a lookout point and pointed out the spot with the best view which we were happy to accept. This was our view.

Ann started getting dinner ready to put on the table.

We were tired so we bedded down earl and sometime during the night I heard Ann yell and then felt two big blasts of wind and heard a noise that made me think the Jeep had broken loose. Looked out the back window and it was still there and attached so I told her that if the wind kept up I would move us away from the edge of the hill. This is how close were. We decided a big tree would have stopped us but we would have been upside down.

Tuesday we headed on and passed through Mineral Wells. I spotted this old hotel which turned out to the Baker. It must have been a beauty in its day but now it is empty, for sale, and such a sad sight. This was the back.

I walked all around taking photos.

This was the entry to the hotel.

I looked inside and was stunned at the elegance.

There were two swimmng pools back to back with a fountain in the middle of one.

There had even been a pent house.

We stopped at a visitors center and this stream as running beside it.
