Has any one tried the 3M Command Strips to hang things in their rigs? I bought some yesterday and now when I look at the directions closely it says that they may not work on vinyl wallpaper and that's what in our rig.

I'm using them - but not for anything that would be hurt if it fell down! I've had a hook for a year for my bathrobe - and it works like a champ! Actually - I think that's the only one I'm using! The other stuff I have fastened up with industrial Velcro and when THAT decides to let loose (which it does in really warm weather.....) I stick them back up with silicone adhesive behind the Velcro! That seems to work - so far, so good. :)

I use them a lot...they seem to stick just fine on my wallpaper. I clean the area with rubbing alcohol before I stick it up. It wont stick to the vinyl that is on the dash tho, I have tried. I stuck a couple of the real big ones for the bathroom on my shower door for towels, works great.

Are command strips the ones with the sticky back? I am looking for the ones that use pressure but can't locate them. Haven't had a lot of luck with the sticky backs but it gets hot here.

It has two pieces and one side sticks on the picture...the other side sticks on the wall and the outside of both pieces are kind of like velcro. Google Command Strips...there is a video you can watch.

I didn't find that the strips worked as well as the hooks. But possibly it has to do with the weight of what I was hanging. Also, I took it on and off quite a lot since it was on the slide side and didn't want to take the chance of the picture falling. carold

I was happy to see this question asked, as I've been wondering. I used to swear by Silicone II, but they must have changed it as it no longer works and keeps things glued together. I used to use it inside and out....in sun, rain and "rare snow".... No longer!

Thanks!

Happy RVing.

Uh oh Joella - I was relying on YOU! It hasn't worked worth a darn on some cork squares I have on the end of my upper cabinet - I use it as a bulletin board - any ideas? Actually - maybe I need to replace the adhesive tabs AND silicone with some of these Command strips! That might do the trick -or maybe all three. This stuff is so lightweight - I've been in a quandry.

Kerry, the little round adhesive dots that came with my cork squares didn't work either. They kept falling off the inside of the door of the computer amoire. I substituted lightweight velcro..the kind with "stickum" on both parts.... and has been working good for a long time.

Happy RVing y'all!
