Hey ladies - need some input. Tomorrow I only have about 4 hours of driving to do and will be passing thru Tallahassee. Anybody know about either of the 2 tourist attractions I found interesting from their web site. One is a re-created spanish fort, maybe San Luis? and the other some kind of archaelogical burial mound site? Any other "don't miss" attractions in the area? Second question - I am then spending a week in Savannah area and was planning to go to Myrtle Beach but...it's coming to spring break time and I am NOT fond of drunken horny college kids, so here's my new idea... Stopping in charleston for a few days, then maybe Huntington Beach for my last beach fix for a while. RV parks in Charleston area seem pricey but did find one that has bike and kayak rentals, a shuttle downtown, and a large dog park with beach access. For those of you who know this area, what do you think? I've heard Charleston is a "don't miss" but is it really, after Savannah? After my last beach, I'll be ready to head inland to Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, then Lexington to the KY horse park and home.

In my opinion Charleston and Savannah are both "don't miss." Even though they are nearby, Charleston is as prim and proper as Savannah is, well, not prim and proper. Both have wonderful history behind them. If you have read the book, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," be sure to take what they call, the book tour in Savannah. In my book, these are two great places to visit.

Well - if you do decide to go to Myrtle Beach you can say hi to my son! He's down there from Eastern Kentucky University. However - he's a 25 year old sophomore and will probably be neither drunk nor horny as he got a lot of that out of his system while he lived with Mom. :)
