Here in Texas, we have our Longhorn (Groundhog) Day. This longhorn pictured is Big Red and his horn spread, tip to tip is 9' 5/8". His horns are USA record holder length.
But, I digress.... Locally in Texas, we don't celebrate Groundhog Day....but do Longhorn Day instead. The Longhorn steer that is used is Alamo, and I read his "following the curve of the horn length is 10'. long. Wow! That has to be LOTS of weight to carry around.
I haven't heard the results of Alamo seeing his shadow....but it's been cloudy here today...and if the celebration were held at our home , we'd be slated for an early spring.
I also heard on the news the Groundhog prediction only correct 37% of the time. But, those top hat guys in Pennsylvania have FUN with their celebration, don't they? Grin.
Happy Groundhog day!! (and RVing too)
