Good morning all !

It's finally sunny here in Iowa - seems like it's been a long time since I've seen the sun. It looks nice :D

I haven't done anything too exciting this week, worked, did stuff around the apartment, got a few more photos hung up and that's about it ! Pretty dang boring !!!

I'm still loving my apartment, on the inside. The outside makes me a little crazy - lots of dog poop on the ground and on the sidewalks, dogs off leash and people driving fast through the complex. I can ignore most of it - just gotta be careful where you walk !!

So what are you all up to ?? Did you have a nice week ??

Did anyone else watch Project Runway ? I hate that the "b" won, I knew she would, but I don't like it. I think it's so weird that clothes on the runway have nothing to do with clothes a regular person would wear in the real world. I'd like a runway show of clothes that normal people wear ! Now that'd be interesting.

Ok, I'm done rambling for now !! Enjoy Friday and have a great weekend !!!

It's been an entirely unremarkable week for me! Yesterday I did get a big zipper put in a floor pillow for Dian. I had said I could, but didn't realize I'd be doing it with her in Austin, and me using a machine I'd never seen before. But, I figured it all out and it's done! Not too badly seeing as I hadn't set a zipper in probably 25 years - and hadn't ever done one where the only opening was the zipper itself.

Today I'm getting the oil changed in my truck - haven't driven her at all in 6 weeks! Will be taking her to SF for Thanksgiving, staying there for 2 weeks, and then going to Bend to visit friends and over to Portland for Christmas. I'm dreading the thought of driving in snow without studded tires. I'm such a wuss now! But - it is what it is and we'll make it just fine! Today I'm also getting sweaters out of my trailer - it won't be 70 where I'm going!

I'm going to the Yuma area the first week of January - will be meeting Alice (damysmom) and Jenny (seeyagal) and staying with some people from the Wandering Individuals Network, none of whom I've met. Then I going to Quartzsite to see that that 'scene' is all about. I might be able to go to Baja after that - depends upon if I can find someone to caravan with me. I might have someone already - but we haven't met and won't til Q.

That's it from sunny Southern California!

Pooh on you both and your sunny weather. Having a bit of a storm here. Bouts of wind and rain. Nice wave action at the beach. You will just have to take my word on that,,,didn't take any pictures. Found a little terrier mix on the road about 4 days ago. Did my civic duty and put ads in the 3 local papers....no calls so far. I have gotten attached to the little pup. Vet said she was 2 or 3 years old, and not fixed,,, AND in heat. Vet said she thought she was a Jack Russel/Cairn mix. Hope she is happy here, fenced yard so her wandering days are over!!!

Knock on wood, so far not so bad. I try to keep a towel handy for when she is sitting on my lap. But really haven't noticed to much so maybe she is almost out of heat (or whatever it is called). I know they can't fix her until she is done... shots and surgery, she'll probably hit the road again if she hears me talking about it!

She is adorable and I would keep her. They used to make little panties for dogs in heat because I used them. Trouble was the dog kept pulling the padding out of the pant.

I'm in Columbus with Sharon, Joella, and Sue and we're having a wonderful time. We're going to have computer class today so we can help each other with things we can't figure out.

My heat wouldn't come on last night but a fellow here at the site jiggled some wires and it came right on. Otherwise it was going to be undercomfortable.

My week was paying bills, getting my mammogram (I don't care what anyone says), getting ready to come to this rally.

Was walking the darling dog this a.m. nice and frosty, dogs were having a great time and down the road come a nasty little pickup held together with rope.... he stopped, backed up and asked if that was our dog... This guy is keeping his sons dog, and he was gonna call him and tell him that the dog was missing if she didn't show up soon. I asked him why he didn't call ANYONE, he said he thought the bobcat had gotten her. (Gotta love some of our local talent) any whoooo, my heart is broken. She is back in her "free range" life stylein the woods and will probably have another batch of pups soon....... another gripe of mine..... but I did enjoy her company for a week.

In defense of the scruffy guy in the crappy pickup, she was a sweet tempered dog that did not appear to have been abused, so I'll just keep that thought in mind.

I think I would have lied and said she was my dog - or just refused to give her back if he thought some predator was going to get her. I know my Better Half would have told the guy exacting what he thought about the situation! Wonder if you could find him and ask him they would give you the dog.

Trust me I have been cruising the back roads looking for his pickup, but we have so many back roads here, and I do mean back roads... mud, gravel, slides, fences and gates... but if I do see the little darling dog back on the road she is coming home with me!!!
