Well, living fulltime in the motorhome, I guess we are ALWAYS at home, but we are back in Whitney, Tx. We left last Friday to go to Hords Creek, a park in west Texas near Abilene. A couple that we had worked with several times here in Whitney are working there and we needed a getaway. Had a wonderful time visiting and drove to Buffalo Gap, Tx one day to visit the Historic Village there. It is really a nice place with historic buildings from 1800's thru 1925 complete with furniture, artifacts and vintage automobiles. There is a church, a house, a log cabin, a Doctor's office, a dentist's office, train station, blacksmith, school house, bank and gas station. The log cabin was one that was occupied for a while by my husband's great-grandfather in the 1800's. That was our primary reason for going.
On the way back Wednesday, we stopped at a gas station in Brownwood and as he tried to fill the gas tank, it came back out of the fill hose that goes to the tank. We had a hole in the hose. We borrowed the phone book and started making calls. We found a Ford dealer a block away that also sold and worked on RV's. Big Country Ford was so-o-o-o good to us. They had to send to Dallas for a replacement as there wasn't anyone in town that had one so they moved a motorhome out of one of the two spots that had an electric hookup and we stayed overnight. The next morning they had us out of there by 10:00 am. The service manager put us ahead of about a week's worth of service orders to let the mechanic repair our motorhome.
Don't know if it would have leaked while going down the road or not but visions of motorhomes on fire sure had me thanking God for His watchcare.
