Effective tomorrow Feb 25,2014, All America Direct is going out of business. That means I will lose my east and west coast feeds, which we lose a lot (especially west coast). Dish network does not know of any other business that will take over. Its been great all these years (since 2000 for us) being able to get satellite programs from the east and west coasts, and locals from Dish. Does anybody know of any other way to get east and west coast feeds? Steve Turney

Hi Steve:

Good to see that you and Amy are still traveling.

Linda and I have no problem getting both East and West coast feeds -- but we are using DirecTV.

So many RVers have had different problems with Dish, that many of them have switched over to DirecTV. When the last fiasco happened (can't remember when or what), DirecTV even set up a special number for those RVers who wanted to switch!

You certanly qualify for the RV waiver, and that will allow you to get both East and West coast feeds (for, I think, an additional $10 a month--but don't quote me on that).

Having had both Dish and DirecTV, I certainly like the ease of setting up a portable dish when we are camped under the trees.

Mike - Unfortunately, things are a changin. When some of us old timers signed up for satellite service, getting both East and West coast networks (DNS) was easy, and we were grandfathered when the DNS rules started to change. While a new DNS subscriber can still get remote networks, it appears they can only get East OR West, but not both. The below link explains this. Good luck. - Dave

I called the Digital DNS Service, but they only do Direct. I'm Dish. FWIW, A Dish guy tells me that they're working on being able to provide distant network signals again. Maybe in a couple of months. Stay tuned. In the meantime, if anyone knows how I can tap into a West or East coast signal, post it. Steve

Steve, we started out in 2000 and had Dish. When they had those problems with the networks and DNS and thumbed their nose at the judicial system and a judge told them to turn off the DNS we had enough with Dish. They did turn off our DNS and the next day I called Directv and have been with them ever since. We still have the NY and LA networks.
