Wasn't there a fellow around on this forum that was an RV salesman (perhaps retired) that offered to help anyone when negotiations were going on? He would tell if a good deal was being made.

Anyone remember this?

Sure, that is John Veech. If I remember right his web site is "therollinghome.com" Send him an email.

Although right now he may be headed to New Orleans to work for FEMA

Actually, I'm flying to Baton Rouge tomorrow because of Hurricane Isaac. I'm not sure where my final deployment will be but I'll let y'all know.

Ke4d@arrl.net is my email so fire away. Just a good rule of thumb, markup on a new rig is generally around 140% of dealer cost and most dealers are going to have about 80% of wholesale in a trade. TT markups are a bit higher if I remember correctly and the economy could change these numbers. It's now been 7 years since Libby and I sold RVs but I suspect the numbers are still close.

Btw Bob, it's Veach! How ya doing buddy?

Im in Morgan City, LA now. I've been in NOLA ( where I had a bomb threat against mt recovery center and mt tents got blown down in a storm) Gramercy, Amite and now Morgan City. No rv on this one but I am being supported with coms from one of our MCOV units. It's a Coachman pusher that has been gutted and contains all the electronics to provide us phones and computer links via satellite. A few more weeks and I'll likely head home til the next time!
