RV tires and truck tires are not the same animal. Truck tires are manufactured to be rolling all the time. RV tires often sit for months at a time without moving. That is why RV tires are RV tires and not truck tires.
I am ready (not really) to put tires on my DP for the third time since I bought it. I'm looking cheap this time. I have always run Michelins but Toyo or Hancook may be on the agenda for this one. They seem to be significantly less money than Michelins or Goodyear. I have my DP for sale, we just don't travel as much as we used to so we plan to downsize to a bigger truck and a pull behind trailer. 15 years and 100,000 miles on our DP and about 8 years of that fulltime, its time to move on. I am not interested in putting $3500 into a new set of shoes for a rig I have for sale so I'm looking for something a bit more economical but we are in year 6 of these tires. It only takes once losing a steering tire for folks to realize that no matter how good the tires look, age is the enemy. (right Dave?)

You got it John! The terror of a high speed blowout is only slightly more traumatic than the damage a steel belted tread can inflict as it whips around the wheel well. Hydraulic, air, and electrical lines, nearby body panels and a battery can all be targets. Good luck - Dave

To get great tyre performance from your Goodyear RV tyres, the weight of the tyre and wheel assembly must be significant. I have also replaced the tyres on my Class A RV last month within a good budget.
