I am a beginner in this whole full time rv'ing thing. I am looking at purchasing either a travel trailer or a fifth wheel. My question to those that would love to reply is if you own one or the other, what made you pick what you did? Also, what do you use to tow your rig with? I need either an SUV or a crew cab truck as I live with 2 Great Danes. Hmmm, maybe I could convince THEM to haul the new trailer!!! ha ha ha Yah right!!! Thanks!!!

I tow a fifth wheel. Now going back to full time. Fifth wheel because it has more storage space and is easier to tow. With the right set up you don't even know it's back there. But, where you gonna keep those LITTLE dogs? I cannot imagine living in a fiver or any RV for that matter with those 2 dogs. I've got 2 little ones and that's enough. But, to each his own I guess.

Your dogs will be fine either way you choose. They will be happy as long as they are with you and once they get with the new routine they will settle in just like a stick house. They will also be more relaxed because you are.

Crystal, one important thing that I neglected to mention. Regardless of wether you decide on a TT or a Fiver, Get the trailer First! Then get the proper tow vehicle to tow it. You have to decide on how large a trailer you want to accomodate you and the dogs. I suggest nothing under 30 ft. Then get at least a one tone pickup to pull it. Ford or Dodge makes no difference. They are both capable of handling anything in the 30ft range
