Sorry, I was out of town for a week and missed this post. As you should know by now, the snow was gone by the next day. It doesn't last here in this part of Texas. (it doesn't snow where I live, at least not since we have been here) It was pretty up there at the Davis Mts State Park. RV the cat didn't know what the snow was. He had never seen snow. It was pretty funny to watch him try to figure it out.
Just back from a weeks deployment with FEMA for some training in our direct housing ops. The best part was the tour of our regional headquarters building. It was constructed in 1963 for use as a nuclear blast shelter for government officials. Everything is underground, 25 ton blast doors over the elevator shaft and stairs, positive air pressure inside the building, underground silos for antennas and a shielded comm room to die for (if you are a ham radio guy like me) Even the toilets have shock absorbers and flexible connections.
Of course, its no longer a shelter and some of the stuff has been removed. No more decontamination room, its an office now.
There are three large diesel engines designed for locomotives that are no longer used and are too large to get out via the elevator. Interesting problem.
