Things seem OK with this new software as far as I can tell.  Thanks to all who worked diligently to make it happen.

One question: when inserting a hyperlink, how do you post that with a word or two rather than the link itself?  The old software allowed you to insert a link but use the word HERE or some such thing.  I can't figure out how to do that with this new system.  Otherwise, it appears to be up and working.  (Shhhh!  Did I speak too soon?)

Dutch - Type your posting, including the word you want to represent the link.  Then, highlight that word and click the Insert/Edit Link button and enter the URL.  That URL with now be attached to the word you highlighted.  That's the way it's SUPPOSED to work.  Good luck. - Dave

Thanks, Dave.  You mean like THIS.  Yes, it does work.

I see that the new link is not opened in a new tab/window like the old Board.  Also we all seem to have the same date we joined the board.  I also can't find where to edit my signature and I lost my spell check.

ps. I tried to submit from the preview frame and it did not post so I returned to the edit and it double posted

Jim...

1) RVA has been notified about resetting the clock to a US timezone (EDT?) instead of GMT.

2) If you right click the thread, you should be able to have it opened in a new tab or window.

3) I have ieSpell installed on my computer and while I can't right click the text and get it proofread, I can click the ieSpell icon (abc) on the Command Bar and it'll proofread what I've typed.

4) The joined dates and number of posts will need to be corrected if possible.  Mine only shows 70 postings instead of 5000+.

There is going to be a learning curve for sure but that's what keeps the mind fresh

It isn't all sweetness; I've found that my settings only work when I am logged in, which is different from the old bbs.  And I've also found that clicking on the box that allegedly allows me to stay logged into the bbs doesn't work, as each time I get on it is a new experience until I log in again.  I can't figure out what good there is in checking that little box by the log-in information.  Each time I log in I check it, and each time after that I still have to log in and check the box.

I liked the old format, but I'll get used to it as all things change.  Is there a plan to allow Avatars?  I want to test This.

This is the second time we have changed format. The first one was basically a continious thread. We got to see all the threads and pick what we wanted to read. When we changed to the last format there was a big uproar.  Some folks even left.  Now we are on a new path it seems. Trust me, we will all get used to it.  After over 10 years on this BB I find we are resistant to change but after a while, most everyone forgets about the old format and just goes along with whatever the new one offers!
