John - If you're planning to use the Tailgater for camping instead of for occasional day use, that could be risky. While most RVers are honest, a $500 portable box could be an attractive target. Over the years we've met lots of folks who have lost stoves, ice chests, bikes, etc. that weren't secured. In addition to my rooftop dish I also carry a small inexpensive portable dish for those occasions when I'm parked under trees. There are now Android and iPhone apps that use augmented reality to help you point your dish, making finding the satellites a no-brainer. They use the phone's camera and GPS to superimpose the satellites on the screen over the view of your campsite and any trees or obstructions. With a little practice, you'll be able to setup the dish very quickly, and the $30 dish would not be an attractive target or a big loss. Good luck. - Dave
