Finallly, after two years of sitting, the old D is out of Texas. Libby and I left Fort Clark about 10 days ago. It's her first time out of Texas in two years, I've been all over with FEMA but not in the RV
We spent a night in Pecos, then moved on to the SKP Ranch near Carlsbad for a few days. It was too hot there so we trundled on to Albuquerque. We spent four days there and wasted an entire day waiting to get some maintenance work done at the Freightliner shop on the west side of town. (my advice, avoid that place). Now we are in Delores, CO visiting with our youngest son who lives in Telluride. He and his wife are moving to New Orleans next month so we decided this would be a better place to visit! We are in the Delores River RV Park for at least a month. It's nice to get the rig out and on the road. Sitting for two years after fulltiming for almost 10 years was just unnatural! It's also nice to have to put on a sweatshirt in the mornings, temps have been in the 40s every morning. Afternoon highs have been in the 80s, touching 90 a couple of times. With singled digit humidity and only and hour or two of max temps, this is a nice change from SW Texas.

I agree Dick. I wanted a new serpentine belt, replace the air dryer filters and do a lube job. At 3 p. they aaured me i was next and would be in the shop very soon. Kept telling me they would get us in and taken care of. Then at about 5 they finally took the rig. At 6 they told me they wouldn't be able to finish vp before 7 when they closed but they would be able to get the oil changed. I didn't ask for an oil change! I finally said, fine just lube the chassis. $238 to do the lube job. I wrote to Freightliner to complain, after all this is an Oasis shop. Haven't heard a word and its been almost two months. I'm very disappointed

1st time--our A/C quit in Ca and they were the only place that we could get into. They told us if we could get there early mon morn they would get us in right away. Drove straight thru and was there mon AM. Kept putting us off all day and said they would get us in the next day. That didn't happen either. We gave up.
2nd time--coming from the east we started overheating and wanted to get it checked out. They would get us right in!! A day later we still weren't in. Gave up and went to Cummins and they took us right away. Blown head gasket. Week later we were on our way $6000.00 poorer.

Same story with us Dick. Be there first thing and we can take care of you. We were there at 7 am. First in line. It didn't happen as we described. We won't be stopping at the Albuquerque Freightliner again! Cummins has been great in the several shops we have visited over the years.
