Hi,

I need to replace 6 tires which are Goodyear (LT245/70R195 - 19.5/6.8K G159). I am looking

for a fair price which hopefully includes mounting, balancing, disposal, etc. I live in the DFW area

(Fort Worth, Texas). Camping World has, which I think, is a fair price in their latest sales brochure.

There is not an urgency to replace so I can be selective in my search. Thanks and happy/safe

RVing to all.

IMHO, stay with the Goodyears. Price is NOT important. Your LIFE depends on the rubber on the road!

A friend recently shopped for Good Year tires for his motorhome. He found the best price at the time at Camping World.

I replaced the tires on my motorhome last summer. I replaced the Michilins with Michilins. I checked the price at Camping World and they gave me a price of $3,500.00. I went to a RV repair shop and they gave me a quote of 3,300.00. I then went to a local tire dealer and he replaced them for $2,900.00. You have to shop around to get the best price. We also replaced the tires on our toad at the same time. Good luck!

I replace all six (two are TAG) every six years no matter what they look like. It's a local tire dealer who sells a lot of tires to construction companies. He balances and asks that I come in once a year anyway for a checkup. When I come in for my purchase he starts calling his suppliers for the best price. The DOT year is always current and the weight rating is OK. Price is great. I may have to wait a day or two until he gets the tires he wants but that's OK w/me.

Hi and many thanks for your replies and suggestions. An update - Camping World will install (8-27-2010) 6 new Goodyear G670 RV tires (245/70R19.5 load range G) for a tad under $2,500.00. This amount includes installation, mounting, balancing, supplies, disposal fees and sales tax.

Also, free lifetime tire rotation and pressure check.

Best price I could find.

Happy RVing to all. Take care, be safe and enjoy this cooler weather.

Holy smoke

Your paying close to 500 bucks a tire that is insane ..... When driving truck long haul as owner operator I never paid more than 280 mounted balanced and installed per tire for the good stuff... Best of the best.... Maybe you guys should stop going to places that do rv's and go to the truck service folks

You spend all of your time on the road so your RV will probably need maintenance. There is no any a specific replacement age for RV tires because there are many conditions that dictate a tire's life span. Every RV is unique, so talk to your vehicle owner’s manual for rotation advice for your vehicle. Proper wheel alignment is essential to maintaining even tread wear on your RV tires.

I've never found Camping World particularly good at pricing anything. Would be very surprised if you can't beat those numbers at a truck tire center. One I've used is Plano tire in Plano. Good folks and the owner is an RVer.

If you're an FMCA member they have a program going with Michelin tires....might want to check that out.
