Yes. I know I'm shouting. If you have a Tradewinds or your battery compartment is built like mine, You need to inspect it.
I was replaceing the 6v batts today and noticed the 12v batt tray is cracked along the aft outboard support. This support is cracked after only 54,000 miles. Much more and all 6 batts would be trailing behind me on the highway.
This is the 12v batt tray. The 6v tray hangs from the verticle angle iron on the left of the pic. The crack, about 4 inches long, is just under the screw driver.
This is a closer pic of the crack, under the screw driver tip.
Tomorrow morning I am welding the crack closed then welding a heftier angle over the present one to support the batts.
