Does anyone in the Dallas/Ft/ Worth area know where to get an inspection sticker for motorhomes? Last year we had our motorhome inspected at a place in Lewisville. They have since went out of business and Buddy Gregg's, where we purchased the motorhome, couldn't offer any other suggestions. The sticker expires in August but we want to leave on a trip July 15. Would like to have it before we leave. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Brent, is John Buchanan still in the business, just up the road from you? He used to have an old gas station about 1 mile north of the Texaco that Brent mentioned, but it has been over a year since I was by to see him.
(John worked with Brent before he retired.)

Hi Ginger, Is this Inspection Sticker a required thing in Texas? Do you have to have one to travel in your rig? I've never heard of this before. What about it all you Livingston Texas residents?
Thanks tfjones, I wasn't aware of this requirement I had never heard it discussed in all the talk about registering your RV and mailing address in Texas. It just shows to go ya, ya learn something new everyday. This message was edited by Neil on 6-30-03 @ 5:56 PM

Thanks, Brent. We will check it out. We live in Irving but Ft. Worth is fairly close.

Neil, it is required if your auto or motorhome is registered there and has Texas plates. tfjones God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.

But you only need it in the state of Texas. If you establish residency and leave the state for an extended period, beyond the stickers expiration, you won't need a another inpection or sticker until you return. Bill Baker

And, if you are registered in Livingston or other non metro area, you don't need an emission inspection, just the safety inspection. The safety inspection is a joke. The last time we had our rig inspected in Livingston, it was raining and the inspector simply scraped our old sticker off and slapped a new one on. No inspection occured. Kirk, John, like most of the Inspection stations in DFW, went out of business once the new Emission requirements went in effect. That is why there is a shortage of stations. He does work for Vogt in the parts dept. Brent
