I own a 2002 Cardinal 5th wheel. The unit is equipped with artic pack. There is a switch inside the door to turn the artic pack on and off. I know it has something to do with winter protection of my tanks but I am unsure of which tanks it protects, how to use it and when to, or not to, use it. Can anyone help me? As my wife likes to point out, she's not sure what an "artic" is. She thinks maybe its an arctic pack, but to Forest River its artic. In any event it is an electrically heated pad attached to the holding tanks. When turned on it is supposed to heat the tanks enough to keep the liquid from freezing. Bill Trout

Thanks for the reply Bill. So it protects the freshwater or the gray and black tanks? BTW, your wife is gramatically correct, it's forest river that can't spell..... '02 Cardinal 31' 5th Wheel 94 Chevy P/U 6.5 TD KTM 400 EXC Polaris 325 Trail Boss Kawasaki KX100 Honda CR80 Honda XL100

Probably a legal kinda thing. If they called it an "Arctic Pack" then one might assume that the camper would be safe to Arctic temperatures.
On the other hand, call it an "Artic Pack" and that's meaningless while still giving the impression of the Frozen Tundra... oh wait, Lambeau Field is in North America.....
